GUIDE TO INSTALLATION - NON WOVEN WALLPAPER MURALS
Your design is printed on a professional, non-woven paper quality which is designed to be structurally stable therefore will not stretch when wet. Our murals are supplied in easy to hang wallpaper widths which are clearly identified as panel A, panel B etc. Begin installing your mural with panel A, hanging subsequent panels thereafter carefully side matching as you go.
Equipment
Ruler
Pencil
Scissors / Sharpe Knife
Plumb Line
Pasting Brush or Roller
Sponge
Solvite Ready Mixed ‘Paste the Wall’ Adhesive
Preparation
- For professional results it is important to prepare the surfaces to be decorated.
- Ensure surfaces to be decorated are clean and dry.
- We recommend a coating of wall size should be applied to the wall prior to installing your design. This will assist in the easy removal of the paper when redecorating.
- It is important to hang the first strip of wallpaper vertically. Measure from a corner and using your plum line and ruler mark a vertical straight line on the wall to line up your first panel of paper.
Installation
Paste the wall rather than the paper. This is the easiest, quickest and cleanest way to wallpaper as unlike conventional wallpaper hanging methods you can paste the wall rather than the paper which means no soak time or pasting table is required, cutting decorating time in half.
- Apply the ‘paste the wall’ adhesive to the wall where the first length of wallpaper will hang. This is the quickest, cleanest and easiest way to wallpaper as unlike conventional wallpaper you can paste the wall rather than the paper, meaning no soak time and no pasting table
- Hang your first panel directly on to the wall using a brush or soft cloth to smooth out any creases or bubbles. Trim any excess paper using a sharp knife or scissors.
- Repeat the process above for all remaining panels, lining up the edges each time to complete your design.
GUIDE TO MEASURING YOUR WINDOW
If you have decided to do the measuring yourself, we recommend you follow these guidelines:

GUIDE TO MEASURING INSIDE A WINDOW RECESS
- First ensure that the recess your blind is going into is not obstructed in any way so the blind can hang freely when fully extended.
- Make sure the recess is at least 75mm (3 inches) deep, otherwise it will not be able to accommodate the operating mechanism.
- Measure the total width from A to B and the length from C to D (See diagram 1). Do this in several places to allow for any slight variation or irregularity in your windows.
- Make a note of the narrowest of these measurements, to the nearest millimetre using a metal tape measure.
GUIDE TO MEASURING OUTSIDE A WINDOW RECESS
- Decide how far you want the fabric to overlap on all sides – we recommend this should be at least 45mm (1 ¾ inches)
- Carefully measure the width from E to F (see diagram 2), adding a further 38mm (1 ½ inches) to take account of the operating mechanism. Measure from G to H to the length you require.
- Make a note of these measurements to the nearest millimetre using a metal tape measure.
